To create a natal birth chart, you will need your birth date, your time of birth and the place of your birth. The time of birth is typically on your birth certificate if you live in the United States. This data is crucial for creating an accurate birth chart.

What is my soul here to do in this life?
And what has it been doing in past lives?

We will look at what the soul has been doing in past lives vs. what it is wanting to do in this lifetime in order to achieve balance. Knowing what these two polarities are, gives you a foundation for decision making so at any one point in time, you will know which direction to go to achieve balance. You'll have a clear perspective that allows for more purposeful and dynamic choices rather than spending time guessing. My mom used to call that "spinning your wheels." Astrology for life direction is an incredible tool to help us be proactive in life.

Sometimes a client will say, "I'm not sure if I should be doing this or that,"as if there are only two choices. These two choices are things that we can see in a chart. Identifying the "this" and the "that" is the key. Knowing which direction the soul is heading and the reason it's doing so is enlightening and empowering.

It also creates a sense of clarity and peace in being able to see just what that path is that you've been on all this time, i.e. making sense of the seeming craziness and challenges.

What if i don't have my birth certificate or time?

If you don't have a birth certificate, it's worth getting one. They are required to obtain a social security number, apply for a passport, enroll in schools, get a driver's license, gain employment, or apply for other benefits. Most likely you have it in your house somewhere. I know it's a pain in the neck digging for it, but better to hold on your appointment so you can get an accurate chart reading.

Having done astrology for over 50 years, I'd agree with astrologers who say it's at least 50% of the chart reading. The time of birth dictates where everything is in your chart is placed, which tells us where in your life things are happening as well as half of what the soul has been doing in past lives and in this life. The time is crucial for creating an accurate birth chart.

If your birth certificate doesn't have the time, see if you can get an idea from a family member who might be able to narrow it down to "dinner time", "early morning," "dad just got home from work." Anything is better than nothing! We can start to guess from there. This is called rectification. We will work with the information we have. 95% of the time, mom's, although they mean well, are wrong when they tell you a time. :)
